From December 1, Russians will have to pay 80 euros for a visa to Cyprus

Cyprus visa fee of 80 Euros for single and multiple entry visas for the citizens of Russia was set on December 1. The decision was made by the Council of Ministers of Cyprus.
Previously, Russian citizens could fill out an application form on the consulate’s website and get a free visa that allowed them to enter Cyprus for tourism purposes.

Council of Ministers by its decision brought visa fees of the Republic of Cyprus in line with those of other Schengen countries and raised them to 80 euros for single and multiple entry visas. The Cypriot authorities have approved the introduction of visa fees established in the agreements on visa facilitation of the European Union with third countries.

Previously, a short-term visa to Cyprus for a period of one to 90 days of the category C cost 20 euros, a multiple entry visa up to 5 years – 60 euros. In September the EU suspended the agreement on a simplified visa regime with Russia. Almost all countries of the block immediately increased the visa fee to just these figures – for adults the fee rose from 35 to 80 euros, for children 6-12 years – from 35 to 40 euros.
